Replacing Your Gutters and Downspouts

MiscRoofingPics/gutters.jpgGutters can be a source of frustration for the homeowner if they don’t perform the way they should. Gutters that are pitched wrong, are rusted out, have leaking seams or corners can result in water damage to other areas of the roof such as the soffit and fascia wood. If the downspouts are too small, leaves and needles from trees can clog the downspout, forcing the water over the front of the gutter and potentially leaking into the soffit overhang, or even running into the basement.

MiscRoofingPics/gutters_3.jpgTo correct these all too common problems, we install 5 inch .032 gauge seamless aluminum gutters, with 4 inch downspouts. The ice and water shield at the gutter lines gets draped into the new gutter, sealing itself to the back of the gutter. The aluminum gutter apron covers this ice and water shield and screw-in brackets are used to hold up the gutter. A larger, 6 inch gutter, can also be installed for handling large amounts of water.
